Flo is an unaffected straight forward sort of simple but beautiful girl. Jules, a self made man, long time married, many times over millionaire, old enough to be her father, falls hard for her. While i found her youth/beauty as his motivation a bit thin, since he has everything to lose, i can almost understand this. I mean there isn't anything he can teach his sophisticated wife, but he can open the world to Flo.

Then there are the sub plots, which lead to a tragic unpredictable end. I sure found myself rooting for the underdog. As the book churned along it picked up momentum and then hummed to its end.

Even knowing that this book was a work of fiction based on the real life salacious Bloomingdale/Morgan affair did not diminish the story
