This immortal moment is re-created in Gentile da Fabriano's Adoration of the Magi, now in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Gentile di Niccolo di Giovanni Massi was born in Fabriano, Italy, circa 1370, and much of his painting has been lost; but the flowering time of his art came not long before his death in 1427, and the Adoration was his masterwork.
