this is "Grand Ballon Captif A Vapeur" by Henry Giffard and the story of his balloon built for the Universal Exposition in Paris in July 1878.   69 pages.  first edition.

Also included is a gilt medal with its ribbon, which was a souvenir for ascending into Giffard's Balloon at the Tuileries Gardens at the Expo.
