ABOUT THE SPEAKER (At time of this recording)
Michael Mahon received his Master's degree in physics from the California Institute of Technology in 1965. He presently manages the Systems Software Laboratory in Hewlett-Packard's Information Technology Group. Mr Mahon previously manages the architecture department at H-P Labs where the H-P precision architecture was developed.

LECTURE SUMMARY
This lecture presents the reduced complexity H-P precision architecture. Design tradeoffs are explored with particular attention paid to the rationale for architectural choices which deviate from accepted CISC and RISC practice.
