This is an adorable little Sterling Silver Fish brooch/pin, either a Koi, Goldfish or a Siamese Fighting fish. It is marked on the back S925 and has a gold vermeil wash or coating. It is hand painted enamel in black and white and red. It measures approximately 1 ¼ inches long and ¾ of an inch tall. It weighs .10 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 2.83 grams. It is not marked as to the origin, but I am guessing this was made in China.
This fish is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There is a slight wobble to the pin that fits into the clasp, but it closes securely and stays in place. There is a tiny bit of patina and spot of tarnishing on the gold tone back of the brooch. It is ready to wear and enjoy.
