This is a 19th centuryantique redware bowl measuring ~3 1/8" in diameter at the base, ~5 1/2" diameter at the top, and is ~4" high. The piece weighs a bit over one pound and one ounce. Beautiful coloring and appearance. The bowl in good condition with no repairs. It does have some glaze loss along the top rime and to the exterior of the body, which can be seen in the photos. It also has general crazing to the glaze which gives the piece a nice character. The piece also has several old chips to the rim, which can also be seen in the photos. The piece also has some small chips or flea bites here and there especially along the edge of the base. There is also losses of glaze in the inside bottom of the bowl. The main issue we see is the piece has two tight cracks or hairlines one extends about 2 1/2" from the top and the other is about 1" long both start at the rim and go down along the wall (see the fourth and fifth photos). These are tight and the piece is stable and solid. Finally as is the case with all these primitive old redware pieces, the bowl has a few of the usual defects you would expect such as pops, unglazed areas and uneven spots. Be that as it may, these issues do not to distract from the beauty and quality of the piece. Please view the photos for additional condition information.
