Elizabeth Jordan was a journalist, author, editor and suffragist; she edited Harper's Bazaar for 13 years in the early 1900s. Probably her most notable fiction was the "May Iverson" series for adolescent girls, consisting of three novels. The website Goodbooks ranks this title, MAY IVERSON TACKLES LIFE, as the best of the three. It relates May's experiences at a convent boarding school. Light external wear, including a bit of fading on the spine gilt lettering, some wrinkling at spine ends, slight spotting on back cover. Paper is slit at gutter between last text page and blank page but webbing is unaffected, so binding is secure throughout. Otherwise, no other interior wear, pages are unmarked and mostly quite white. This first edition (the only vintage edition) is very scarce.
