Vintage 8x10 in. U.S. single-weight glossy restrike photograph (not a vintage original photo printed at the time it was taken but one that was printed from the original negative) from the classic 1930's biopic, QUEEN CHRISTINA, released in 1933 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and directed by Rouben Mamoulian. Great Garbo stars as Queen Christina of Sweden, the popular monarch who is loyal to her country. When she falls in love with a Spanish envoy (John Gilbert), however, she must choose between the throne and the man she loves.
The image features a great interior medium shot of Queen Christina (Greta Garbo) seated on her throne wearing full royal attire as she holds a scepter and orb. Credits from the film are depicted within the bottom border. Printed on single-weight stock with a glossy finish, this vintage restrike photograph, which was printed from the original negative, may have been printed by MGM for some type of later publicity purpose (even though we could not find an official U.S. theatrical re-release date). It is in very fine condition with a light 0.75 in. diagonal crease on the bottom left corner. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the image quality is razor-sharp with fine detail and beautiful contrast.
