This is a vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the lost pre-code drama, COMPROMISED, released in 1931 by First National Pictures and directed by John G. Adolfi. Based upon the play by Edith Fitzgerald, Rose Hobart is featured in this drama about the evils of class consciousness as a poor but virtuous girl who marries into a suspicious wealthy family.
The image features an interior close shot of the wealthy Brock family which includes father Sidney (Ben Lyon), his wife, Ann (Rose Hobart), and their son, Sandy (Delmar Watson), as they share a happy moment together. The beautiful soft pastel color tints are especially attractive and the film's title at the bottom is depicted inside a border featuring two different shades of pink. Printed for the film's original 1931 US theatrical release by First National, this vintage original lobby card is unrestored and in near-fine condition with several small creases and nicks along the first 4 inches of the top border; a 0.5 in. diagonal crease on the top right corner; vertical and horizontal creases along the last 5 inches of the right border; a 2 in. semi-circular shaped crease in the bottom border near the left corner that has a 0.5 in. vertical tear in the middle of it; light signs of wear on the bottom left corner; and two small smudges in the left border. The beautiful pastel color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading and this card is very attractive when appreciated in person.
Provenance: The Morris Everett Jr. Collection.
Compromised is considered a lost film, as no prints are known to exist.
