A self-taught artist Gerald spends regular time teaching watercolor techniques at local art centers. His goal is to shorten a student.s length of time in becoming proficient at watercolor.
Gerald's style and competence in a difficult medium has earned him National recognition. He has been accepted into both the A.W.S. (American Watercolor Society) and the N.W.S. (National Watercolor Society) International exhibits.
For 2 years he has been evaluated for entry into the Arts for the Parks Exhibit in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, which included all media.
In August of 1999 Gerald.s painting, 'Snowlight', was selected from 14,000 entries in ARTIST Magazine's annual art competition as a finalist in the landscape category.
Gerald is a realist painter who has mastered the technique of working from his own photography. His 'plein-aire' field trips include all of the sketch pads and pencils, and a digital camera. Back in the studio, he works quickly to establish the wet washes and dry brush strokes which have led to his success as a water-colorist.
