Mepitel Low-adherent Wound Contact Layer Dressing

Mepitel dressings feature a porous, semi-transparent, low-adherent wound contact layer. The contact layer consists of a flexible polyamide net coated with soft silicone.

Mepitel minimises Pain to the patient and Trauma to the wound during dressing changes. Safetac technology prevents Mepitel from sticking to the wound bed yet adheres gently to the surrounding skin, it is also adherent on the outer side, which allows easy application of a secondary dressing.

Mepitel can remain in place for up to 14 days which allows undisturbed wound healing when used in conjunction with a simple secondary pad, such as Mesorb. In addition, topical treatments may be applied through Mepitel whilst in situ.

Areas of use:

Mepitel can be used on a wide range of exuding wounds such as:

- Partial thickness burns
Skin tears
Graft fixation
Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB)
Abrasions
Wounds with compromised/fragile surrounding skin

Mesorb is a soft, highly absorbent dressing which can retain large amounts of exudate. The fluid-repellent strike-through barrier helps prevent exudate from soiling clothing and bed linen. Mesorb is the secondary dressing of choice for use with Mepite.
