THE GOOD COMPANIONS

by J. B. Priestley

Harper & Brothers, First U. S. Edition, 1929

Condition: VG+ to NF in Good- dust jacket

This is a novel of romantic adventure, reminiscent of Dickens, by the author probably best known for THE OLD DARK HOUSE (filmed in 1932 with Boris Karloff).  THE GOOD COMPANIONS itself was filmed three times and was the basis for three different musicals for the stage.  This is the one-volume first edition (there was also a two-volume edition).  640 pages.  Light corner and spine end wear, modest page toning; binding secure, intact hinges, front cover and spine still bright.  Dust jacket has tears (tape over two long tears), plus some creasing; no printing affected.  Still, dj on first edition is scarce.
