This gorgeous belt is created from 16 panels of silver, with silver (and a few brass replacements) links at top and bottom.  It is pierced, and engraved with images of the peacock, thought to represent a guardian of royalty, and also immortality as it was believed the peafowl did not decay in death, was immune to poison, and other God like attributes.  Each panel is exquisitely hand rendered, and the belt measures just 26 inches long without a buckle.  It was made to be fastened with a silk cord, and the fastening links appear on each end.  One is of silver, the other appears to be replaced with brass for additional strength.  The belt is 1 3/4" wide.  It weighs 115 grams.
This is truly an unusual fashion statement.
