This novel concerns a forceful, rationalistic young doctor and a mysterious, beautiful Russian girl whom he unwillingly loves and whose exquisite hands seem to convey a magnetic healing power. The book was filmed in 1922, the same year as its first publication. The jacket of this movie edition indicates it was published just before the movie's release. Both covers feature a still from the film, portraying Clara Kimball Young, a famous stage and silent screen star, with Elliott Dexter. The front flap gives some other information on the photoplay, which is now a lost film.
The spine of the book shows fading, though it's readable; the upper cover corners are moderately bumped, with some wear. There is light scratching across some page edges and the pages are toned, most notably in the margins. Otherwise, no writing or markings or damage, with solid binding. The dust jacket has rather extensive edge chipping (some affecting printing), small holes at the folds, a large sticker pull on the back cover and spine fading, but is basically still intact. This title with movie tie-in dust jacket is extremely scarce.
