The challenge for inclusion in an art show was to create a piece of art to fit the theme "Sanctuary" which led my eye to a small piece of fabric with a scattering of glyphs that resembled primitive cave paintings. I combined two of them for my central figure and surrounded him with a colorful swirl to indicate his power, ensconced him in a grotto with a rectangular arch, a night sky behind and silver foliage. The border reflects back to the primitive nature of the image.

My artwork is mounted on foam core, which creates a light-weight but rigid piece with a wire for hanging and a felt backing. It is treated with a sun-block spray, although prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may eventually cause fading.
