LABOR DAY SALE!
Interior Smoke Gray (aka: medium gray) paint for plastics.
Smoke grey (medium gray) was available as an interior color on 1987-1989 Ford Mustang among other Ford models. You may have changed your interior on 1990-1993 model years.
This paint is guaranteed to be an exact match for Smoke Grey (medium gray). It works just as well as the products from famous brands, but at half the cost.
It's not necessary to use a primer or a plastic prep chemical. Clean the part (I recommend Purple Power), allow part to dry and wipe down with rubbing alcohol. The purpose of the rubbing alcohol is to remove any residue including skin oils. You will want to take care as to not touch with your bare hands...any area you wish to paint. Doing so will produce 'fish eyes' in the paint. Finally allow to dry once again and and spray! If possible hang the part so that you can spray all sides....with a coat hanger, some wire or other means.
Recommendation:
1st coat: very light and with can approximately 12" away. This will produce a wide spray area and the entire part will not be covered. Allow to dry.
2nd coat: medium coat. 12" away at this point you should only be able to see trace amounts of the original surface. Allow to dry. If not allowed to dry then the previous layers may cause the newer layers to wrinkle as they drying rate is different.
3rd coat medium 12" away. Total coverage.
**Given the weight of the product, the better buy is the two can listing but the best buy is 3 cans as the PRIORITY FLAT shipping rate is the same whether two or three cans are purchased.
