Up for sale is a beautiful Columbian Exposition commemorative half dollar from 1893. This was the first U.S. commemorative coin, issued by the Bureau of the Mint (Philadelphia) to raise funds for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition and to mark the 400-year anniversary of the first voyage to the Americas by Christopher Columbus. This coin still looks great even after 123-years!

This ungraded/uncertified example is in "very good" circulated condition and looks like it's been gently cleaned. There is slight wear on the obverse portrait and reverse ship & hemispheres while the beading on both sides, the reeded edges, wording & dates are in fairly crisp condition. All in all, this 123-year silver commemorative would make a nice addition to any coin collection.
