This is an adorable vintage Mallard Duck made in Taxco, Mexico. It is hallmarked and stamped on the back with the “Eagle Mark” and a 3. The hallmark looks like a bell shield design. There is a stamped circle with Taxco Mexico around the circumference and 925 in the center for Sterling Silver. The enamel colors are vibrant red, green, yellow, blue and black. The green around the eye has a design etched in that gives it a three dimensional textured design appearance. It measures approximately 1 ¼ inches across and 1 inch tall. 

It is in nice vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There are a couple of tiny defects in the enamel where it appears that bubbles formed during the creation. One is in the black section and the other in the yellow section. You don’t notice them without magnification. It has a secure working safety clasp. The brooch has a great patina forming that only comes with age. I will leave it up to you to polish if you so desire. This would make a wonderful addition to your collection of vintage Mexican jewelry. It is a fine pin that will draw lots of compliments. This brooch is perfect for any duck lover, man or woman. It would look great on a man’s jacket lapel or hat. It is also perfect on a woman’s dress or sweater.
