A Butterick 5440…a Girls’ Jumper or Tunic, Pants & Shorts Sewing Pattern in Size 10.
The pattern has been cut and all the pieces are there; there are tiny tears and light stains. The instructions are there and tanned. The envelope is in poor vintage condition with tanning, stains, rips, splits, pieces missing and ink. The envelope flap is gone. There is no copyright date, but the pattern is dated June 18, 1970.
This pattern is a patient in the Vintage Patterns Company Pattern Hospital.
About the Vintage Patterns Company Pattern Hospital:
A lot of patterns come here as the result of an abusive prior relationship or as the result of old age. Their envelopes may be tattered but their contents good -or- they may be missing instructions that we can work around -or- they may be missing a few pieces we can draft –or- they could be only an envelope with great graphics.
So here they rest up until called for their next job.
For sizes and yardages please look at the scan of the envelope back.
Don't miss out just because the sizing isn't quite right! Resizing a pattern is simple, instructions may be found here:

All patterns are vintage items and sold…AS IS. Although I maintain a smoke-free and a pet-free studio, I have no control over where items have been previously. I attempt to represent my goods as honestly as possible, but sometimes something will get by. If you have any doubts about an item, E-MAIL ME! I want to make sure that you will be pleased with your purchase. I will make a refund as merchandise credit; buyer pays for return shipments.
Pattern comes in a zip 2 mil. plastic bag and is shipped in an envelope with a cardboard insert. The zip bag is great for storing the pattern!
Please note that I count the pattern pieces unless factory folded, assess the pattern’s condition and press the pattern as necessary. You will never purchase a pattern from me with “It looks like its all there” or ‘Pieces need pressing’.
