Vintage jewelry never goes down in value, but continues to increase in popularity with age as more modern pieces are not manufactured to the quality standards of past creations; thereby these fine older pieces only increase in value over time.
This vintage mid-century 1960’s chunky gold tone royal bracelet was quite popular during the medieval gothic revival period of that time, think gothic Vincent Price movies and Hippie era.
This is my personal bracelet that was given to me as a birthday gift by two teenage girls who lived across the street from me in Portland, Oregon during the mid 1960’s. It’s one of the few things that survived my childhood of which I am now ready to part with since it no longer fits my wrist.
The bracelet has a sturdy curb style chain showing diamond cut - interconnected triple linked pieces with a circular clasp closure. A curb chain is a chain in which the links interlock and lies flat even though they are oval in pattern. Curb chains come in a variety of widths and their links are generally uniform in size.
The Bracelet measures approximately 7-1/2” inches long end-to-end and has 7 large brass charms representing the medieval renaissance period showing two rampart lions, a castle tower, coat-of-arms with crown and crossed swords on the front of a black enameled background, a three shield and crossed sword open-work charm, a Maltese cross showing a crowned coat of arms shield on the front and a large enameled coat-of-arms shield with a crown, swords and rampart lions on top with a fleur d fleur-di-lys, over a crown for the centerpiece. This is an unsigned piece and in very good condition. All pieces are intact and functioning.
FINE PRINT: As with most antique and vintage items I do not clean, polish or in any way change the content of this item due to possibly affecting its original prominence and value. I leave that decision up to the new owner and selling this item “As Is – As Found”.
And… as with ANY vintage item they have been previously owned, so there may be signs of normal wear. Look at pictures carefully to determine item condition for yourself before you purchase.
