FRAMING

Frames can be found at Craft Stores such as Joann Fabrics, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Darice, etc. We suggest you xerox the print and take the xerox with you to the frame stores so you can lay the xerox in the frame opening and see what looks best. Remember, the frame is part of the art and not every frame will do justice to this piece of Artwork. Sample framings are shown in this listing as to what it looks best in. It also looks nice in a white or dark green frame. Frames should be 1.5" to 2" on each side to give the best artistic look. Do not put this in a matte and then frame. It does not look good in a matte.

HISTORY

The original for this print was made in 1973 while the Artist Melanie T. Campbell, Owner of Campbell Studio, was at Kent State University as an art student. It was a sketchbook assignment that she procrastinated about until the night before it was due (the sketchbook was a semester long assignment and should have been filled by the end of that semester, to be turned in as part of her grade).

With thoughts of impending doom and anticipated scrootiny by her professor looming over her head, she got so angry at her own procrastination, that she grabbed a pencil, her sketchbook, looked around for something to draw and ferociously attacked the paper. In about five minutes, this "Flowers" art was born. Once she saw what she could do in anxious panic and anticipation of reprisal, she thought "if that's what comes out of me at moments like this, what else could I create?"

Her professor was stunned and spellbound when he saw the drawing. Then he commented that she should have been doing that kind of work all semester long. She couldn't agree with him more, and she was sad to have disappointed Mr. Grossman, who was her favorite Drawing Professor.

Now we are offering this unframed print for all who are attracted to it. Several people currently have one in their homes and are enjoying it in their Dens, Living Rooms, Libraries and even on their Pianos, etc. It seems all who have seen this Framed Print in Person, have so far been captivated by it, and warmly embraced it. We offered it at a free auction last Christmas at our workplace, and people fought over getting one .... smile. The artist's own sister was impressed when she was presented with one of these framed prints for her 50th birthday. She's a perfectionist and not easily impressed ... LOL!

900 of these are available. This is definitely one gift for the holidays or other special occasion that will be unique. Or purchase as a treat for yourself to enjoy for years to come! In the different branches of the Artist's Family, we've designated it as a family heirloom to be passed down from generation to generation. it is our hope that others will do the same.
