Orange is a color I used to avoid, but for this piece, it called to me. The fabrics for the tree leaves and for the pumpkins seem to be created by the same artist, both having similar leaves on a black background, dotted and outlined with gold. The background sky is a textured cloth which provided an interesting sky, and called for just a bit of quilting to enhance the tree.

My artwork is mounted on foam core, which creates a light-weight but rigid piece with a wire for hanging and a felt backing. It is treated with a sun-block spray, although prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may eventually cause fading.
