This is a wonderful vintage pair of miniature teapots in a deep, rich rose, cranberry or burgundy color with abundant gold trim. The handles and spouts are in gold as are the tops or finials of the removable lids. Each piece has a scene with a medallion of the popular Courting Couple or Colonial Couple in a garden. The background is white and surrounded by a band of gold. The young woman is dressed in a blue and rose pink dress, while he is wearing a brown and white suit. I have seen this same design on the Royal Sealy China from Japan.
The largest teapot measures approximately 2 ¼ inches tall and the smallest is 1 ¾ of an inch tall. The larger one has the original blue and white label on the bottom with "Made in Japan".
These are in excellent vintage condition, no chips, cracks or hairlines. They have a gorgeous luster finish. They would make a lovely addition to any collection of miniature teapots. These would be perfect for that Shabby Chic decor.
