This is an Infantryman's cap insignia for use by enlisted men in the years before the Civil War and into the War's early years. This insignia measures approximately 1 oe inches in height. This insignia features two retention loops on the reverse and is lead filled. This is a fine example of a Civil War Infantry insignia.
