This is a beautiful old child's jacket, from a local estate Edwardian/Victorian clothing collection. It has distressed/destroyed/rugged marks. There are some black stains that look like someone got too close to the inkwell. The off white color has gently darkened/faded. There are three huge buttons, but four button holes. The bottom one is missing, so you could use it as it is without moving any buttons.
The pockets are faux pockets, just flaps on the front. No tags, so measurements are provided below. I think it was likely a mail order type garment, because it is very well constructed with machine type stitching. The fabric has a slightly nubby appearance on the front and the back has a flannel feel.
It measures approx 14 inches long from the bottom of the collar, down the back. Underarm to underarm is approx 10 inches. Top of shoulder to end of sleeve is approx 10 inches.
Please see photos. This is a lovely old item, definitely a distressed/destroyed look.
