Description
"The Mil Mi-24 Hind) is a large Helicopter gunship, attack helicopter and low-capacity troop transport with room for eight passengers. It is produced by Mil Moscow Helicopter plant and has been operated since 1972 by the Soviet air Force and its successors, along with 48 other nations.
In Nato circles, the export versions, Mi-25 and Mi-35, are denoted with a letter suffix as "Hind D" and "Hind E". Soviet pilots called the Mi-24 the "flying tank" (Russian: летающий танк, letayushchiy tank), a term used historically with the famous World War II Soviet Il-2 Shturmovik armored ground attack aircraft. More common unofficial nicknames were "Galina" (or "Galya"), "Crocodile", due to the helicopter's camouflage scheme, and "Drinking glass" (Russian: Стакан, : Stakan), because of the flat glass plates that surround earlier Mi-24 variants' cockpits.[Wiki]"
This item is manufactured by "D-4" as a "puzzle model" and is designed, we suppose, to be put together and taken apart over and over? But, we offer it as a serious scale model to be built by skilled hobbyists who have the tools and materials to give it justice. IT CAN BE COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED SECURELY WITHOUT GLUE.We recommend you acquire some Squadron Putty or equivalent. One tube will last for years for a busy 1/144 model kit builder.
The kit is very nicely made and includes a stand. It does not include decals, but we have some stocks of Y-kraft Japan 1/144 Russian National insignia decals and can provide one set for it.
Note: We are sorry, this kit is not in it's original box, it is bagged with the "box artwork".
Please see our other auctions for more D-4 model kits.
