SPAULDING AND HULBERT  PISTOL AND RIFLE CARTRIDGE BELT WIRE “C” CLOSURE

This is an original Pistol Belt brass “C” closure, provided by the Spaulding and Hulbert Belt companies.  The “C” closures were  issued to the soldiers when they removed the heavier “US” stamped plates from the belts for field use, and the wire keepers were used for adjusting the length of the belt to the soldier’s waist size.
