THE SONG OF THE
PHYTOSAUR
WAS HEARD IN THE LAND:
First there was the sea, the ancient sea, which covered the land and then the sea subsided. All that remained was slime and goo and out of this things grew, plant and animal. This was a long time ago, i go to 18o million years ago, and what do a few million years or so matter between friends. That was when the song of the phytosaur was heard in the land. That was when the story of our Petrified Forest began.
We dedicate our pages this month to that weird and strangely beautiful area, to that land of fantastic color, to that gleaming repository of jeweled logs the like of which cannot be found elsewhere on the earth. We take you, with considerable pride, to Petrified Forest National Park.
