VENETIAN BLIND

By William Haggard pen name of Richard Henry Michael Clayton.

London: Cassell, (1959).

First edition, first printing.

"First published 1959" statement to the copyright page, and 10'6 net price to the jacket's flap.

The second entry in the character-driven suspense thriller series with background plot machinations of the MI5-like counter-espionage Security Executive Service, featuring Colonel Charles Russell.

Nicely presentable vintage first edition in dust jacket.

Very faint foxing to the outer page edges, else very nearly fine, firm, and square in red linen boards with gilt embossed titles to the spine; in a near fine dust jacket illustrated with a fully conceived sophisticated bombshell dame behind blinds shadows, with creases to the lower front panel corner, rubbed crimps and tiny surface nicks to the upper and lower spine edges, a half-inch tear to the lower rear panel edge, and a tear to the lower front flap fold; the front inner flap shows a small 'LFR' in red ink.

The dust jacket will be placed in a clear protective, removable sleeve after photographing for this entry.
