This vintage sculpture is in very good condition. No chips or cracks. Please look at all the photos. The last photo shows the statue sitting on a scale.

Moses by Macri. Moses, the prophet, the law giver, the emancipator. Macri has created a formidable figure presenting the ten commandments. He has imbued Moses with strength and bulk, and like Michelangelo, with horns.

Supposedly in  the 16th Century, Michelanglo read an Italian Bible containing a mistranslation. Instead of describing Moses as having "rays of light emanating from his head" the unwitting translator had described him as "having horns". Since that day, many of the world's greatest artists have depicted Moses with horns.

Macri has created a rock like figure filled with pride and righteous anger as durable as the message in the stone he brought down from the mountain. Roughly 11 inches tall and 9 inches wide on a granite Foundry-Stone base. Signed by the artist, then hand-cast in Foundry-Stone with a green bronze patina. Moses is signed and dated to 1969.

I photographed the statue under professional lighting, which brightened the statue. Without similar lighting the piece appears much darker. Under light you can really see and appreciate the strong, beautiful green patina.
