A deciduous shrub or small tree native to North America, thriving in USDA Zones 4 to 9. It's well-suited to various garden settings due to its adaptability to different soil types, though it prefers well-drained, moist conditions and partial to full sunlight.
Reaching heights of 15 to 25 feet, the Lamarckii Serviceberry forms a rounded, bushy crown. In early spring, it produces abundant white flowers, followed by small, sweet, edible berries in early summer, which are favored by birds and wildlife. The foliage, initially bronze, turns to dark green and then to stunning shades of orange, red, and yellow in autumn.
Ideal for mixed borders, naturalistic plantings, or as a standalone specimen, the Lamarckii Serviceberry requires minimal maintenance. Regular watering, especially during dry periods, and light pruning to maintain shape and health are generally sufficient for its care. It's also appreciated for its resistance to pests and diseases.
Plants ship with leaves in spring and summer and are sent dormant throughout fall and winter. They are currently 24 - 44" tall. Taller trees will be pruned to fit into a 36" box and to promote branching.
