Vintage Porcelain Laughing Happy Buddha Porcelain Gold Gilt Statue Figurine 3.5"

Elegant bisque porcelain statue of Hotei Buddha, the god of contentment and happiness, guardian of children, and patron of bartenders and restaurateurs. He is also a symbol of wealth, luck and success in life. He is known as "Fat, Happy or Laughing Buddha." He carries a cloth bag over his back, one that never empties, for he uses it to feed the poor and needy.

This elegant Happy Buddha statue is made of biscuit porcelain and beautifully decorated with gold gilt inlay.  Cheeks, lips and eyes are very beautifully hand painted in life-like colors.

Measures approx. 3 1/2" H x 2" W at the base.
