This small food mill is marked Marque Deposse Persilette.  It was made in France.  I would date it circa the mid to late 1950s - 1960s. It has been sitting on a shelf in my kitchen since I picked it up at an estate sale in the mid 80s.  I have never used it. It mesures approximately 2 5/8 inches tall, and 3 1/4 inches across the top. 

You would put your hard spices, herbs, or hard cheese or veggies inside then rotate the handle to slice or grind the food item in question against the blades in the bottom of the mill.  It is made of tin, and does have the expected discoloration and wear.  The handle has a red painted wood knob.  The paint on the knob has worn off, and most of it is missing.  The handle still turns, sticks slightly, but is in useable condition.  A great addition to any vintage kitchen gadget collection, could even be used in a pinch.
