Backstory: San Juan County Historical Society writes that the dairy was originally founded in 1906 in El Paso, Texas by Mark and Mary Price. In 1932, the Prices' sons acquired two dairies in Albuquerque, NM and re-named the operation to Valley Gold. Ray Campbell, the manager of Valley Gold in Albuquerque, left in 1938 to launch Creamland Dairies. Borden's acquired Valley Gold operations in 1979 and the brand discontinued.
