About the item:

The brainchild of DC Comic's Mike Gold, “The Great Superman Movie Contest” offered Man of Steel fans the chance at winning a cameo appearance in Superman: The Movie.  Advertised on every DC cover published in May and June 1977, comic readers could clip coupons from the various DC titles in exchange for a chance at winning a small part in the film (ultimately two of the Smallville High football players).  Thousands entered the contest and the soon-to-be star of the film, Christopher Reeve, drew the two winning names on July 20, 1977.  This extremely rare promotional sticker, which measures 4 by 7 3/4 inches, was one of the promotional items created by DC to advertise the campaign.  Featuring artwork by then long-time and now legendary Superman artist Curt Swan, the sticker is in near mint condition - extremely nice shape for a nearly 50-year old item - and it will be shipped with the utmost care.  Item is original, it is not a reproduction.  It is signed by Mike Gold, who devised the promotional campaign, and certified authentic by CGC.

Please not, with CGC’s Signature Series, a certified witness actually observes the signing and then immediately takes possession of the collectible so there is no chance for the real autograph being replaced or substituted. It will be shipped with the utmost care.
