The Electric Heater is an OEM part compatible with LG air conditioners. As a component located inside the air conditioning unit, it plays an important role in maintaining proper interior temperatures and air quality. The heater is designed to warm the air as needed to prevent freezing of condensation and moisture buildup as well as produce consistent cooling performance. 

Causes of a bad heater can include wear and tear over time, mineral or scale accumulation obstructing airflow, or failures due to repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Symptoms of a failing heater include:

• Inability to regulate temperature properly, resulting in freezing of internal components
• Wet or musty odors emitted from the air conditioner vents 
• Error codes displayed relating to temperature control or coils freezing
• Vibrating or rattling noises from inside the AC unit during operation
