Vintage Hand Painted Chinese Limoges Style 10.25" Handled Gold Moriage Satsuma Pink & Yellow Peonies on Blue Pattern Vase Compote Urn
This vintage Chinese vase features a Pink Peonies pattern with Raised Gold Gilt Trim on a Dark & Light Blue Vase. The Darker Shade of Blue is Absolutely Stunning!
It is much in the style of some of the Nippon coralene pieces I have seen, but the flowers are painted with enamels, and do not have the glass beads associated with coralene pottery. It does have heavy gold gilding, with raised satsuma beading, and the slip glaze raised gold moriage style outlines around the flowers.
The footed, double handled jardiniere urn vase is made of porcelain and showcases an Asian style with a theme of flowers.
It is marked on the base "LIMOGES CHINA". (Please note that this IS NOT LIMOGES from France, but is rather made in China.)
Measuring 9.75 inches in length (across handles), 10.25 inches in height, and 7.5 inches in width, this late 20th-century vase is ornately decorated and weighs 3 pounds 4 ounces.
It is a unique piece of art pottery that would make a stunning addition to any collection or decor.
