All my watches are serviced, de-magnetized, and timegrapher regulated, with a three-month warranty, unlike many flippers' watches with unknown conditions. Those low price watches are typically in sorry conditions. Expect to pay $$$ for service.
I restored this Fortis Vacuum automatic movement, which was based on ETA 2538. The movement has been lubed and reconditioned. It has a nice original sunburst brownish dial. The movement is pretty to look at with that beautiful textures on the unbalance weight.
I have restored several Fortis automatic watches. Fortis typically used high grade automatic ETA movements. The case is a big steel Swiss made case, about 37 mm wide and 43 mm lug to lug. An Swiss made new Catamaran stainless bracelet is fitted with this heavy case. It is big, bold, and heavy for wrists up to 8".
I build and restore vintage automatic watches as a hobby using my knowledge in precision engineering and aesthetics. All my watches are freshly lubricated, timegrapher regulated, and cleaned to restore the pleasure of wearing a vintage watch with its full functionalities and timing performance.
I do not use Chinese-made parts, even the spring bars are Swiss Made.
As in any vintage watches, keep it from water. NOT water resistant!!!
After the watch was made, I tested it for accuracy and consistency. It was worn for a few days with some initial winding to see if it keeps time and keeps on ticking. It does. It actually keeps surprising accurate time, but no guarantee if you are looking for quartz like precision. It is as good as some high priced automatic Swiss watches I own.
The sale is final. I will however provide a three-month warranty. Within 3 months, if there is any issues, send the watch back and I will correct it and ship it back. The buyer only pays for the one way shipping cost to me.
It is time to wear something different against the onslaught of electronics. In terms of the art of mechanical design, 60s and 70s were the peak. After that, it is all half electronics or full electronics.
