This is an Official DC Comics ONE OF A KIND original colorist
art/color guide page that was used in the direct production of the
vintage JLA issue 22 comic book from 1998.
NOTE: This Justice League of America color guide artwork was hand-painted by DC Comics Colorist Pat Garrahy, who SIGNED this color guide page on the back side (see photos). Pat Garrahy sometimes used black tape around the edges of the color guides he hand colored, as he did with this page. He also put the "color codes" (the instructions to the printers) on a separate sheet, which is shown in the photos and will be included with your purchase.
SIZE:
This 1 of a kind original DC colorist's color guide art page measures
about 12 inches by 9 inches total, which is normal for some color guide
production artwork.
NOTES: Color guide artwork is different from black and white original art. Color guides (colorist's artwork) are re-sized copies of the pencil and ink original artwork that are assigned to the issue's colorist, and then hand colored by that colorist. Colorguides usually measure about the same size as the published comic book, and some have "color codes" for the printers to follow. Because most modern comic books are now colored by using computers, there are no more color guide pages being produced, which makes the surviving color guide pages highly collectible. Color guide art pages are not graded like comic books are, because color guides were not originally intended to be saved or collected and are one of a kind. : C916682.
