Scheibe Alsbach statue of Remy Joseph Isidore Exelmans
This porcelain figurine features Remy Joseph Isidore Exelmans, one of the most famous marshals of the Napoleonic Wars. He was a French military officer and statesman, Count of the Empire, peer of France, Marshal of France, participant in the revolutionary and Napoleonic wars, as well as a political figure of the following period.
Highly detailed & beautifully painted in rich, vibrant colors with gilt details and modeled wearing uniform, he is standing on a square form base with gilt impressed name cornered by Imperial eagles.
The base underside features an incised biography with birthplace and dated military battles in French, incised numbers, Scheibe Alsbach mark.
Measures approx. 9" tall x 2¾" across base.
In excellent condition & just beautiful.
