Beautiful CD of ALL the songs recorded for John Lennon's "Moldies But Oldies" album from 1975 - Rock N Roll. In addition to the seven added songs (plus two alternate takes), there are also several songs which are LONGER than the standard released versions, upping the excitement level even further! Add in absolutely gorgeous sound quality and terrific artwork, and this fan-made disc is a sure winner, guaranteed to please any Beatles/Lennon fan out there.
1. Here We Go Again 4:50 - Lennon/Spector composition that was an outtake from the album as it wasn't an "oldie", but it fits perfectly as the opening track.
2. Be-Bop-A-Lula 2:39 - With count-in left off the original LP
3. Stand By Me 4:04 - No fade-out - over thirty seconds longer than the released version.
4. Rock 'N' Roll People 4:20 - Mind Games outtake, but fits right in with the oldies, so here it is.
5. Rip It Up / Ready Teddy 2:25 - Almost a minute longer than the LP version, this continues well past the abrupt cut-off of the LP.
6. You Can't Catch Me 4:51
7. Since My Baby Left Me 4:40 - Another outtake, this is almost a full minute longer than even the Menlove Ave. version, released in 1986.
8. Ain't That A Shame 2:38
9. Do You Want To Dance 3:15
10. To Know Her Is To Love Her 4:37 - Beautiful cover of the Phil Spector-penned Teddy Bears hit, this was somehow left off the original LP.
11. Sweet Little Sixteen 3:00
12. Slippin' And Slidin' 2:22 - Continues for several seconds past the fade of the LP version.
13. Move Over Ms. L 2:57 - The non-LP B-side to Stand By Me, this song sounds perfect coming out of Slippin' And Slidin'.
14. Peggy Sue 2:05
15. Bring It On Home To Me / Send Me Some Lovin' 3:41
16. Angel Baby 3:41 - Another outtake that was somehow left off the original LP (though was included on the mail order 'Roots' album). This is the beautiful 2020 "Ultimate Mix".
17. Bony Moronie 3:47
18. Ya Ya 2:17
19. Be My Baby 4:32 - Yet another outtake that was included on 'Roots', this is one of John Lennon's finest vocal performances.
20. Just Because 5:33 - Continuing well over a minute past the normal fade point, this long version allows the listener to hear John's poignant greeting to Paul, George and Ringo at the very end. Truly heartwarming bit that was inexplicably left off the LP.
Bonus Tracks
21. Ain't She Sweet 0:29 - Short bit of a song John originally recorded with the Beatles in 1961.
22. Rock 'N' Roll People [alternate version] 3:12 - An outtake of an outtake
23.Move Over Ms. L [alternate version] 3:11 - A more laid-back approach rather than the raucous version released on the single.
