This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE RING that was HANDMADE during the 1930s from 18K PINK GOLD and STERLING SILVER TOPPED for the diamond setting. The ring is set with 1 SYNTHETIC, EMERALD CUT stone known as an ALEXANDRITE-LIKE SAPPHIRE that weighs approx. 10.6 carats. This stone measures 15 x 11.5 x 6.14 mm and it has a 14 PRONG PINK GOLD SETTING. This stone is DICHROIC, meaning the COLOR CHANGES depends on the light source. I can not accurately capture it in a photo, but it has a BLUISH-VIOLET COLOR, like a SATURATED AMETHYST, with BLUE FLASHES. The special beauty of this rare synthetic stone needs to be seen in person to see it’s dichroic property.

The ring’s SCALLOPED FRAME is set with 14 ROSE CUT WHITE DIAMONDS of VS to SI clarity that weigh approx. .54 ctw. They have a .05 - .06 ct spread each and one of them is chipped, but I don’t think anyone would notice this when the ring is on the hand. The head of the ring measures 3/4” long by almost 11/16” at the widest point and it sits 3/8” high off the finger. The ring size is between 8.25 - 8.5 and the total weight is 6.6 grams. A RARE FIND...GORGEOUS COLOR...BEAUTIFUL DETAILED LOWER GALLERY!

*A NOTE ABOUT OUR PHOTOGRAPHYTaking pictures of diamonds to be displayed on a computer screen can be difficult, often resulting in the diamonds looking dark (especially rose cut diamonds) when in reality they are not. If you are looking at any of our pictures and feel that the diamonds look dark, please refer to the description of the item that states the accurate color and clarity of the stones.

Also, jewelry and/or diamond grading is done under 10X magnification. When you super-size our photos you will see the item in 100X magnification. Please be aware that you may see things that cannot be seen with your eyes or a jeweler’s loupe. Sometimes these magnified images can make the item look distorted or appear to have problems when in reality it is fine. I list only high quality pieces and avoid those with problems or in need of repair unless it is described as such in the listing. If you are seeing something that you are not sure of, please inquire about it.

REFUND POLICY: The buyer has the right to a refund should the item not be suitable. The item must be promptly returned in its original condition without damage, alteration, repair or signs of wear when examined under a 10x jewelers loupe. Buyer is responsible for return shipping fees unless we have mistakenly misrepresented the item.

I realize there is risk on the buyer’s side when bidding on an expensive jewelry item. If you would feel more comfortable speaking to me in person before bidding on an item, I welcome all calls. We are not in the business to cheat or fool people and are here to answer any of your questions. PLEASE CHECK MELS ANTIQUE JEWELRY FEEDBACK!
