VTG 1940s 50s BROADTAIL SWAKARA KARAKUL ASTRAKHAN FUR Coat Silk Lined Hand Made

Broadtail SWAKARA Karakul Astrakhan Fur.

This is a rare and delicate fur, made of the most expensive kind of lamb. It's thin, soft leather and fine short hair, is pliable and easily draped for fine garments like dresses, skirts and coats. Broadtail like this has a silky texture and fine moire or watered-silk pattern, very rare and quite expensive.

It has an incredibly Gorgeous Black/Blue & Gold Hand Stictched Silk Taffeta Striped lining.

The age has left it's marks here and there, and it is difficult to photograph every little detail. However,  there are area's where the pelts were sewn together that are coming undone, there is some loss of fur etc., nothing unexpected considering the age of this coat.

A furrier skilled in repair should make fine work of this, or use it for other projects or wear as is--A BEAUTIFUL HISTORICAL PIECE ALSO .  As mentioned, the lining is still mint and pristine, the fur is still soft and silky, though as mentioned, in some distress.

The are two ornamental "FROG" Button closures. This is a GORGEOUS Jacket!
