Vintage Hand Painted Majolica Style Water Lily & Rope Handle Pitcher Jug 1975.  Approximate measurements are: 7 3/4" Tall x 6 1/2" Wide x 3 3/4" D at top & bottom and weighs approximately 2 lbs. without packing materials.  Samuel Lear produced Majolica in the 19th century but by 1886 he was out of business.  In the 1970's there was a resurgence of his Pottery & the reproductions began.  This pitcher is hand painted and signed by the Artisan- ETP, 1975. This reproduction is very close to the real thing with features like- the handle has a hole within, glazed all over (inside & out), completely painted on the bottom.  Colors are regal with gold edging (crackled) & glitter. This pitcher is STUNNING & sure to become a Statement Piece in your home.  Condition is preowned with no cracks or crazing.  There are a couple of small chips- last photo shows 1 (hard to see).  The inside has some staining & spots.  I think it is from someone using as a vase but I'm not sure.  Charming & Unique!  T19
