Fresh find from a Chesapeake Bay Country Estate is this
Antique Primitive Hand Carved Wooden Butcher's Butchering Gambrel.
Not a common find
Once every farm had a couple of these purpose handmade piece for butchering pigs, deer sheep and cattle.
These were hand craved from pieces of the strongest wood around and were used to hang the carcass to age the meat and to add in removing primordial cuts for more processing.
Amazing condition with a unique time created patina

Measures
27 ½” long and 1 ¾” x 1 ¾” at the middle tapering to ½” x ½” on the ends
