This is a cool set of door stops / bookends.  Very unusual and hard to find as these were characters of a old time puppet show called Punch & Judy.  They are cast iron bookends, Marked EMIG. Painted like a wood, almost like wood grain which gives it a rich old look. They are in great vintage condition, and weigh just under 5 pounds! They each measure approx. 5 1/2" wide x 7" tall, with a 1 1/2" base.   The felt is very old and is disintegrating, as well as coming off as you can see.  There is a silver speck on the base of the one.  All in all in great shape.

The performance consists of a sequence of short scenes, each depicting an interaction between two characters, most typically Mr. Punch and one other character who usually falls victim to Punch's slapstick. It is often associated with traditional British culture.  The various episodes of Punch comedy—often provoking shocked laughter—are dominated by the clowning of Mr. Punch.
