This antique photograph from 1928 depicts an interior heavy wooden door of the Ullensaker Kirke in Norway. The snapshot is a unique piece of history, showcasing the beautiful architecture of the church. The photograph is in black and white.

The photo was framed in New York by Andres Frame, Gifts, and Picture Co. located at 195 Greenwich St. (corner or Fulton Street) Cortlandt 2085 in NYC and 309 Steinway Ave, Astoria, Long Island, Ravenswood 2121. It measures approximately 6" wide by 7.5" tall.

The original Ullensaker Kirke was built around 1190 and was stone. Most of this church was taken by a clay landslide around 1490, but four doors were preserved. A simple stave church was constructed in 1525, and it was extended in 1640. That building was demolished in 1768 and replaced with a white wooden church. It was struck by lighting in 1952 and burned to the ground, although much of the valuable historical contents were rescued. A fourth church wsas consecrated in 1958.

The door in this photo is one of the items that was saved from the original church.
