RARE SIGNED RICHARD BLENKO CENTERPIECE/COMPOTE 2000


Founded in 1921 by WILLIAM BLENKO, this AMERICAN hand blown glass company was founded under the Italian influence; In 1947 after taking on new designers, improving quality and incorporating Scandinavian influences the company took off.  IT  began to use Art Nouveau, free form and biometric styles which transcended functional AND  sculptural  glass INTO  works of art. Their heft, colors, and modernist form created by designers Meyers, Husted, etc. produced works of lasting style and appeal. 


BLENKO has become part of many museum collections and continues to have a large following of collectors.


This large signed,  not foil labeled piece is in near perfect condition with only a few but typical as made minor hand blown imperfections. The SWIRLED RAISED upper part of this cobalt blue top is based by a clear center support, terminating in a stunning emerald green pedestal base. CLEARLY ENGRAVED WITH THE SIGNATURE OF RICHARD BLENKO AND DATED 2000. 


Not only is this a stunning utilitarian compote/centerpiece, but is a work or art , guaranteed to receive compliments. 


The seller has not seen similar with swirls or these colors and in this condition.
