When you want heat, place the Boo Boo Puff in the microwave for approx. 30 seconds (microwave temps may vary so test before using to prevent burns). When you want cold, place Boo Boo Puff in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer. (Remove plastic bag before use). Or get two - one to store in the freezer and one for the microwave!
