Description
This is a rare early WKKK membership inquiry party card that was passed out among women by members for recruitment reasons into their order. Usely an event was organized weeks in advance in towns & villages with leaflets and broadsides on store windows and telephone poles. Often the identify of the name of the group ( WKKK) was obscured by the theme: A PATRIOTIC CALL ! Once the women showed up these cards were passed out with pencils to follow up on potential members and dropped in baskets.
This 3' 1/2 x 5 1/2 card originated from a pre-WW2 scrapbook of former Alexandria, Virginia Federal judge.
